What is the difference between terminating and non-terminating decimals?

Terminating decimals:

These are decimals that have a clear end. They stop after a certain number of digits after the decimal point. For example, stops after two decimal places.

Non-terminating decimals:

These decimals keep going and don’t stop. For example, goes on forever, indicated by the three dots. This shows that the number does not have a final digit.
