How do you divide mixed numbers?

To divide mixed numbers, you use the same steps as for proper fractions, with one exception:

First, you need to convert the mixed numbers into improper fractions.

So this is how you do it:

  1. Change the mixed numbers you want to divide into improper fractions
  2. Flip the second fraction
  3. Multiply the fractions
  4. Simplify the answer, and if needed, change it back to a mixed number
