6th grade Q1
Creating problems with the subtraction of decimals is fun! Follow these steps to make one yourself:
Step 1: Choose your amounts
Start by selecting two decimal amounts that require subtraction. Pick numbers where regrouping (borrowing) is needed to make it a little challenging. For example, Php 250.75 and Php 123.48. These will form the subtraction in your problem:
Step 2: Create a scenario
Think of a real-life situation involving subtraction, such as calculating change after shopping or finding out how much money is left after spending.
Step 3: Write the problem
Turn the scenario into a clear question, including your chosen amounts and story.
Example:
You went to a bookstore with Php 250.75. You bought a few books and spent Php 123.48. How much money do you have left?
Step 4: Solve it yourself
Before sharing your problem, solve it to confirm the answer is correct. Show all the steps clearly so you’re ready to explain it if needed.
