6th grade Q1
Creating problems with the addition of decimals is like designing a fun math activity. Follow these steps to make one yourself!
Step 1: Choose your amounts
Start by selecting two or three decimal amounts that are easy to add. Keep the numbers simple, like Php 150.75, Php 200.50, and Php 99.25. These will form the addition in your problem:
Step 2: Create a scenario
Think of a real-life situation involving money, such as shopping. For example, you could imagine going to the mall and adding up the cost of items you bought.
Step 3: Write the problem
Turn the scenario into a clear question, including your chosen amounts and story.
Example:
You went shopping at the mall and bought three items: a shirt for Php 150.75, a pair of shoes for Php 200.50, and a bag for Php 99.25. How much did you spend in total?
Step 4: Solve it yourself
Before sharing your problem, solve it to confirm the answer is correct. Show all the steps clearly so you’re ready to explain it if needed.
